Culkin's Hearing Delayed
Macaulay Culkin's day in court has been pushed back to allow attorneys to work on a plea bargain in his drug possession case. The 24-year-old Home Alone star was scheduled to appear in Oklahoma County District Court yesterday, but the hearing was moved to April 6. Police arrested Culkin during a traffic stop on September 17 in north-east Oklahoma City. About 17.3 grams of marijuana and 16 milligrams of Xanax, a prescription drug used to treat depression and panic disorders, were found in the vehicle, which was stopped for traveling at 70 miles (per hour in a 60 miles per hour speed zone and making an improper lane change, police said. Culkin wasn't driving. Oklahoma County prosecutors have charged him with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of the Xanax. He pleaded innocent to the charges in October. Culkin was freed on $4,000 bail shortly after his arrest.

Hollywood beauty Nicole Kidman has laughed off fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld's harsh comments about her looks as "impossible". The acclaimed designer was quoted in the British press claiming Kidman wears "bizarre body make-up" and is a false beauty - even though the actress was paid a reported $3.8 million to front his Chanel No 5 advertising campaign. But Kidman's spokeswoman Catherine Olim doesn't believe Lagerfeld made the comments. She tells gossip site The Scoop, "This sounds impossible to me. He (Lagerfeld) adores Nicole and they have longstanding mutual respect for each other as professionals."

Latina beauty Jennifer Lopez is turning to her Selena director Gregory Nava to reignite her movie career after a string of flop films. J.Lo leapt to fame in 1997 with her portrayal of tragic Mexican singer Selena Perez in Nava's film, but - despite a critically-acclaimed performance in Out Of Sight in 1998 - the actress has fallen foul of critics with a series of flops, including Gigli, The Wedding Planner and Enough. In Nava's forthcoming movie, Lopez will play an American reporter sent to the Mexican-US border town of Ciudad Juarez to investigate the mysterious killings of dozens of females there - a real life phenomenon. Filming is expected to start in March.

Potential Jackson Jurors Profiled

Potential jurors for the Michael Jackson trial have been quizzed about their stance on issues including racism, child abuse and cancer. A seven-page, 41-point questionnaire, aimed at discovering biases for or against Jackson, has been completed by the 250 people under consideration for jury service. Prosecution and defense lawyers worked in conjunction to compile the comprehensive list of questions aimed at removing prejudice from the standing jury. To weed out any racists, the questionnaire asks, "Do you think your feelings about or experiences with people from different races might affect your ability to serve as a fair and impartial juror in this case?" Another question tackled the subject of child abuse, with a view to eliminating any prospective jurors who had been victims of abuse, or who were close to someone affected by it. Another asked if they had ever had cancer - Jackson is accused of abusing a cancer-sufferer. Defense lawyers will pin their case on portraying the accuser's family as attempting to seek financial gain from their allegation, so prosecution lawyers inserted the question, "Have you or your family member ever made any claim for money damages?" Jackson's trial started on Monday, he has pleaded not guilty to charges of child molestation, conspiracy and administering an intoxicating agent to his alleged victim. Proceedings were adjourned on Tuesday to allow the opposing lawyers to draw up the questionnaire before they individually interview each of the 250 prospective jurors - the selection process is expected to last until the end of the month.
Spector Sued by Clarkson's Mother
Phil Spector, currently facing trial for the murder of Lana Clarkson, has been sued for wrongful death by the late actress's mother. Donna Clarkson also accuses Spector of negligence and battery, charging in the lawsuit that the 64-year-old music producer "grabbed, hit, fought with and restrained" her daughter before shooting her to death on February 3, 2003. Donna Clarkson's attorneys, Roderick Lindblom and John Taylor, say in a statement, "The Clarkson family had hoped that there would be some resolution with regard to the criminal proceedings before moving forward with the civil action. However, Ms. Clarkson and her family understand that the fair administration of justice takes time and in light of the numerous changes Mr. Spector has made in his legal defense team over the last two years, Ms Clarkson was forced to file the action before (the statute of limitations expired) on February 3, 2005." Spector denies accusations of shooting Clarkson in the foyer of his home near Los Angeles. An autopsy report concluded that a gun was placed in the 40-year-old actress's mouth and fired. His lead attorney Bruce Cutler says, "Phil did not cause the death of this woman, he's not criminally responsible and he's not civilly responsible either. But I'm not surprised they filed a suit for money, that seems to be de rigueur nowadays."
Hendrix Memorial in Danger

The house rock legend Jimi Hendrix shared with his father Al in Seattle, Washington State is in danger of being demolished unless it's owners move it for a second time later this month. The dilapidated building is owned by the James Marshall Hendrix Foundation who hope to turn it into a youth centre for disadvantaged children. It was moved a few hundred meters from its original location three years ago to make way for a new development. City authorities lease the foundation the plot of land where the house was moved to, but they now want it to make way for more developments because no offers for the property were made. John Franklin, director of operations for the mayor's office, says, "There are other potential opportunities associated with the site; we need to extinguish the lease." Ray Rae Goldman, research director for the James Marshall Hendrix Foundation, counters, "Seattle should be involved in building this community center and this tribute to Jimi. When we made the original agreement, it was inferred that the city was going to help us out a little more than they did."
