‘Fire and Fury’ to Be Adapted Into TV Series

‘Fire and Fury’ to Be Adapted Into TV Series
Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” is being eyed for an adaptation into a television series, Variety has confirmed.

Endeavor Content has purchased the film and television rights to the book, which goes inside the first year of Donald Trump’s presidency. It largely portrays Trump as unprepared for the enormity of his office, and that he is unable to focus his attention on policy details. The book also includes quotes from former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who referred to the 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer as “treasonous.” Bannon eventually resigned his position at Breitbart News over the furor caused by his statements.

The book proved to be an immediate best-seller and was sold out at bookstores in several major cities the day it was released.

No studio is currently attached to the project. Wolff will serve as an executive producer on the project with former

TV Ratings: 'Black Lightning' Gets a Promising Premiere on CW

TV Ratings: 'Black Lightning' Gets a Promising Premiere on CW
Good news for the CW. It seems the network still hasn't exhausted its viewers' appetite for superhero shows.

Black Lightning joined the lineup on Tuesday night, making it the fifth comic book series on the network — seventh, if you're counting genre-divergent entries iZombie and Riverdale. The first hour pulled a strong 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers. Those numbers are quite sound by CW standards, especially when you consider the fact that lead-in The Flash, the CW's No. 1 series, only performed incrementally better. Black Lightning shared The Flash's score in the key demo and lost fewer...

Chicago Med Review: Holding On

Occasionally, a series has what can be referred to as, “transition episodes”. These are episodes that don’t necessarily feed too much into the character’s stories or have big, dramatic moments. What they do is to push past the stories of week’s past to get ready for a the changes ahead. This week’s episode of Chicago Med is just one of those episodes. Whether it’s family drama, a dead relationship, or a terrible professional mistake, everybody needs to let go of the things they can’t change. Spike TV Gets Fiery Farewell as Paramount Network Launch Approaches (Watch)

Spike TV is going out in a blaze of glory.

The Viacom-owned cable network, which will rebrand as The Paramount Network on Thursday, is hosting a live video on its social channels in which the network’s soon-to-be former logo is being destroyed with a wide range of weapons. Viewers can help determine the means of destruction for the logo by interacting and voting via Facebook reactions. Each reaction will represent a different form of destruction.

Among the implements being used to trash the logo are a cannon, paint balloons, a sledgehammer pendulum, and flaming arrows. The stunt comes after the #GoodbyeSpike and #SpikeUnfiltered social media campaigns, which saw the network’s social media “go rogue” and start lambasting some of their former programming, like Tna wrestling, “The Joe Schmo Show,” and “1000 Ways to Die.” We Are Social created the six-week “Goodbye Spike” campaign.

Among the shows that will debut on the Paramount Network are the

Libby Leist Will Lead NBC’s ‘Today’ to Tomorrow

Libby Leist’s path to the top of the first two hours of NBC’s “Today” started in Washington, D.C.

Leist joined NBC News’ Washington bureau as a desk assistant in 2001, and soon rose through the ranks to become a senior producer for Capitol Hill coverage and a senior producer for “Today” in Washington, D.C. Her assignments would have her working with people like Andrea Mitchell and Savannah Guthrie.

That relationship with Guthrie, now a co-anchor on “Today,” would serve her well. While other women have supervised NBC’s A.M. franchise – Alexandra Wallace, a former NBC News senior vice president, once had responsibility for the program’s many hours – no female staffer has run the show’s first two hours, which are the most lucrative, most watched and most scrutinized. The first two hours of “Today” are said to bring in around $500 million in advertising revenue each year, according to Kantar

Dudek’s latest role, Kate on Comedy Central’s Corporate — which premieres tonight at 10/9c — is an ambitious executive at a corporation where humanity is leached from employees as they climb the corporate ladder. (No seriously, it’s a comedy.)
